This is the space where I share what I'm learning, my book notes and articles.

I'm writing a book in an attempt to help other developers who are currently dealing with the following specific problems in their careers:

  • Where to focus to get my career unstuck (in order to land a high-paying, interesting and fun job)
  • How to go from feeling lost and overwhelmed to feeling confident and in control when
    • prioritizing what is important when building something (WHAT to build and HOW to build it)
    • evaluating trade-offs (planning VS execution, tech debt VS new features, Technology A VS Technology B, etc.)
    • debugging really hard problems
  • How to become a genuine problem solver, not just someone who knows the latest stack
  • How to get more things done if I'm always being blocked by my company's bureaucracy
  • How can I feel more joy and peace in my day-to-day work life (fewer bugs, fewer urgent matters and fewer communication misalignments)

If you are a tech leader, you might find some stuff useful in what I'm writing if you are currently looking for ways to move your team from being code focused to being value and business focused.

I have a work-in-progress draft open for beta reading for those willing to deal with the (lots of) rough edges. If you are interested in taking a look at it, hit me up at leomaxfyi@gmail.com, and I'll share the link with you (zero pressure if it ends up being non-relevant for you).

Long term, I'm interested in learning about social and impact driven businesses. Do you have any good recommendations on what I should read next? Let me know at leomaxfyi@gmail.com.
